1 BUGGER BRUISER That was a supremely good try last week, and a bad beat if you bet! You got the underlay price, but not the win. So, it took one start to adjust to his new barn and he will renew a rivalry with #4. Good battle coming.
2 ALL ABOUT RUSTY Not exactly having a great season, with a 1-18 slate. Tried Pocono. Tried Monti. Will now try the big track and I’d need to see a good one before I could realistically endorse.
3 ALWAYS A FORCE Ended the Freehold meet on a sour note, with that 1-5 loss. What’s up with that? I have no answer. But, with Freehold now closed, you have to race somewhere. Will the Force be with him? I’m not so sure.
4 GYPSY LEATHER Yannick got away with a nice, soft pace on this guy last Friday and it worked to perfection. Will it be quite that easy again? I always lean towards no, but there isn’t a whole lot of other power in this field. No YG this time.
5 ATOMIC REI Newly-crowned Freehold training champ Mike P brings this aging veteran up the Turnpike again. First visit didn’t show us much, so he will have to ramp it up a few notches to get close. Can horse still do it at 13?
6 TRICK CARD I guess if you wanted to try and beat the two favorites, this is your best option. He does own a win this year, his first, by the way. Speed will be coming again, and he should end up in perfect stalking spot. I want price!
7 TITUS SEELSTER Titus picked up the nickel in his first visit back here. Okay! Not bad. Gets a slightly tougher post to go along with his lack speed. So, he’s totally at mercy of both pace and trip. Needs to get a little lucky.
8 MIKE’S POWERHOUSE Must have gotten really sick there in April, because barn gave him lots of time off. The comeback qualifier on Monday doesn’t exactly excite me, but this barn can have one ready. Take a long look.

1 JM BETONSIX One of the possibilities in this very wide-open race, despite the only six entrants. They all can win! This filly has made the transition to mile track nicely so far. This could be her shot to shine, from the rail. Needs a bit more.
2 OFF THE RECORD Should benefit from that first trip over the track. Sometimes it takes a race to acclimate. And this barn is good in that category. She won here last year, and I suspect she’s just racing back into shape. Dangerous.
3 RAPUNZEL BLUE CHIP Elected to scratch on Tuesday at Pocono in a seemingly tougher spot. I like the move! Yes, I know she still hasn’t won a race yet, but it will come eventually. She is fast enough. She’s also a 4YO. No excuses.
4 CAPSAICINN Her name makes me want some hot chicken wings! Worked her way right up the class ladder in PA, even trying those low-level stakes. Not bad! Since she’s by the Captain, she could easily show more on big track.
5 ALWAYSABEACHDAY We haven’t seen a whole lot from her since coming south. I’d like to see a touch more early speed, but don’t know if it’s in the tank. I have to see it first.
6 OURLITTLEMIRACLE Added Lasix last time and did produce a better result. That trip was just too tough. She could be the key to the early pace battle. I see plenty of speed, if pilot wants it. Another possibility in tough race.

1 WHATSTROUBLNUROCKY It’s been a real mixed bag since this barn took over. Lots of checks earned, but not wins. Maybe this is finally the spot to jump up and win? The post relief will be huge help. John C did stick with #9, though.
2 MCNULTY Z TAM That was a really good qualifier here last week and so far, most of this barn’s newcomers have done well. This GSY is the perfect spot for him. Should battle it out early with Rocky. Good race. Vizzi aboard.
3 MONTEFALCO N Very tough call here, as horse continues to make breaks. A good test for Mr. Slendorn, who co-owns. He’s yet to the hit the board with any of his steers. IF he can keep this one pacing, a maybe.
4 ROCKINWITHTHEBEST I really thought he was in a good spot during that wild race last week. But, he flattened out badly. That’s just not like him. Usually he pounces. So, I don’t know what to do now. Will have to finish better.
5 RISKY MILLION Seems like the whole world bet on him last week, in second start here. Didn’t work out too well. Like a few of the others, they launched wide moves and were unable to sustain them. Will just have to find more, folks.
6 CASHNCAM Another one that’s been getting some checks, but not winning. I don’t see that changing. Use under.
7 MAKE IT BIG It doesn’t appear that new barn has quite figured this guy out yet. Eventually, it will come. Not yet.
8 WINNING LINC Was “assigned” the outside post last week and you see how that worked out. This isn’t much better, so he’d better find some more speed. Demand fair value, if you fancy his chances way out here.
9 JERRYTONE Was a big part of the pace battle in the other division last week. That pace wasn’t quite as hot. Tonight’s problem is the post. Has good turn of foot, but seems best with just one move in the mile. Has to fire out here.
10 MAY I CRUISE WEST The Cruise gets slammed with his third straight horrible post. At least he passed a few and picked up one check. That’s about as good as he can do again.
4 Fourth Race Entries

1 MAGNIFICENTFASHION I guess we’ve yet to see his best stride. The hopples went on recently and he is trotting a little bit faster. Still needs to pick it up a lot to start earning here.
2 ETHICS A tad disappointing with that miscue a few weeks ago. The added missed time is also a concern. Tonight’s main goal for the colt is just to trot. Let’s see if he can do it. Take a good, long look out on the track.
3 RITSON This is a nice spot for him, coming back from Pocono. All of his efforts here were good! And, against some pretty tough fields. The Pocono race was decent too! Tonight’s his best chance to visit winner’s circle at M1.
4 ADIRONDACK This filly is very much looking like a “work in progress” for Team Takter. Dexter got her around there a few weeks ago, even if she wasn’t a serious threat. But, she trotted! That’s step in right direction. Josert will try now.
5 SWAN BY LAND Forced to requalify after those Pocono miscues. It was just an okay mile. I guess I just want to watch one at night here first. To see if he belongs on the big track.
6 QUICKEST HANOVER Looks like she’s come back a lot better at age three. They even ramped her up to mild stakes tries. That hasn’t worked out yet. So, this is very logical spot. Would love to see that speed she offered at Philly.
7 DUCHESSPEDIA The hopples-on angle worked better for her last time. She offered a much nicer late kick. Lines get turned over to A Mac tonight, so we could see a touch more. But, I’m sure A Mac will be careful with her.
8 TEQUILA N ROSES Gets slammed with another outer post and it probably ruins her chances again. I will pass.
5 Fifth Race Entries

1 DEW CAN DEW Mixed feelings here for several reasons. I see overall record isn’t great. I see recently added Lasix. And, I also see Joe Lee aboard, who tends to get overbet in spots like this. The Dew must prove herself on mile track.
2 INUKCHUK CHUCK Chuck has been picking up some checks lately, so that’s not bad. Mark S won with him a while back down at The Hold. Back to the big track and Chuck has won here before. I like the post. Sits in and saves.
3 TAKE A WISH We all know her game here. Tends to lag just a bit early in the mile, but can really motor home late sometimes. It’s all about pace and trip. At least the inner post will help. Not sure if I’d accept a short price, though.
4 INNISFALLEN Seems to have tailed off again. That one sparkling win here on front end is now off the program. IF you told me he was going to stay trotting, I’d say he’s not totally out of it. But, we all have to guess.
5 SHADY MCCOY Shady goes in for the tag here. He launched a wide move, only to flatten out last time. The midpack post is probably perfect for him, but he will still need a much better finish to get the job done.
6 EVERYONE’S TALKIN Roy M picked up a nice win last week, using a perfectly patient drive. Might need the same from this 10YO. That wasn’t a bad first trip over the track. Most horses improve. What will the price be? Not sure.
7 KEYSTONE ORION The Judge rolled him right down the road to close the Freehold meet! Nice win. Then they took the 12YO to the Ocean where he weakened on the lead. Makes me wonder if he’s still true big track horse? Judge on 8.
8 MASSTER BLUE Another one shipping back to the big track where he hasn’t been a huge success. I’ll pass.
9 SOUTHWIND FROST Note that posts nine and 10 were drawn between the two early favorites. The Frost was just a touch flat, but against a better field last time. Won’t hold that against him. Stuck with tough draw, and needs speed.
10 GREY Let’s just say that it was a total disaster last week. Late to gate, gapped, pulled and struggled. I think that sums it up. Now, it’s post 10, so what do we do? I really don’t know what to tell you. The price probably won’t be huge.

1 FRANCO TOTEM N Todd M was listed on four of these and chose Franco. I will too! I thought he had chance against that better field last week, but he was raced conservatively. This will be different. Definitely one to beat on the drop.
2 MISTER DONALD A Gave it a very good try last time, against a dropdown winner, so full credit for that. But, he gets forced way up the ladder here, and this is a pretty salty group for this level. Will have to sit, save and try to get lucky.
3 PARTY BOY Just toss the last start from post 10. Concentrate on his strong win when well-meant before that. This is a much more reasonable class level and he fits with these. Expect Scotty Z to put him in play again. Maybe good price?
4 A MAJOR OMEN The Omen got stuck in a bit of traffic after a rail-ride last time when dropped to this level. Looking at this bunch, you just know he’s going to fire out of there. Any smoother trip gives him big opportunity.
5 VASARI N Very mixed feelings about this Freehold invader. He’s never really proven himself on a big track, so that’s an issue. And, he’s not exactly catching an easy bunch for this level. Let’s watch one tonight.
6 JUSTIN CREDIBLE I don’t know what’s gotten into Justin lately, but he’s been a lot stronger of late. He’s even got a turn of speed! Gets into this via an alternate condition, so he’s out of claimers. Sign of positive intent? Yes.
7 LUCK N ROLL K Opened a few eyes with a dazzling display of speed last week. Claimers going in 48! Sodano barn has really figured him out and I’m not even worried about the perceived class hike. He should be gunning again w/TT. Trainer: In the form of his career right now, but this is definitely the best field he’s ever faced. If the trip works out, it’s possible. Couldn’t ask for a better driver substitute.
8 FOREVERNALWAYS Not in a very good spot way out here. Especially with all the other speed. He doesn’t usually blast, so it could be a long way from the back of the pack here. Demand fair price if you like.

1 P L NOTORIOUS Finally gets a little break from the post gods, so that has to help. Mare’s been a bit slow to return to form, but she has turned the corner. I like that barn opts to bring her back here. Will be a factor from pole position. Trainer: No trip luck from two tries from the second tier at the Spa. Been waiting on a post like this for her. Will leave.
2 SUDDEN CHANGE N Yannick gave her every chance last week, with a very aggressive steer. It almost worked. Also gets a better post tonight and might save that good burst. She’s a 10YO warhorse. Would be hard to leave out.
3 SWEET MOVES With Freehold now closed, many horseman are taking a shot up here. Some will make it. Some won’t. I usually like to watch one first.
4 LIVINGINTHEDREAM Also up the Turnpike from Freehold. New barn in play? Not sure. I see some speed, but perhaps only questionable stamina. I guess I’d like to see if she can still hack it here. I’m skeptical.
5 SUNDAY AFTERNOON I liked her in that spot two back and she was just okay. The outside post just gave her no chance last week. This is the final drop and there will be NO excuses accepted in here. Only has to deal with #9.
6 RACING FOR RICK Not a lot of races past two seasons, but she has reached decent form. It’s really hard to gauge those Freehold Trackmaster races, to one’s here. I have to rate her a longshot, until I see a good one here.
7 MANHATTAN PLAY I guess one of these nights she will jump up and surprise me. But, I don’t think it’s tonight.
8 LOOKATMYART Been off a long time. They managed to get one qualifier into her before Freehold closed. I would always prefer to see the qualifier here. Homebred is only four, so she’s got plenty of future. A longshot off layoff.
9 DARKRSHADEOFPALE N Definitely the “key” to the race tonight. Early speed has never been her best weapon, but T Mac is guaranteed to leave at least a little. Can’t let #5 get too far away. One of them will probably win this.

1 MAGIC CAPE She’s now had a couple of starts to get used to NJ. And, they weren’t bad. Nice opportunity for young pilot with a mare that can go. Only needs to sit, stalk, and try to shake loose late. If so, she will have trot.
2 AVENIR Pretty strong try in the NJSS Final. Barely outkicked by the upset winner. Filly would have paid $46 if she had crossed wire first. Joe B not here, so TT gets call. I sometimes hesitate to play after a final, but this looks like nice spot.
3 AWESOME TRIX Let’s just give her a pass for that miscue in the final. The weather was rough that night. Bob M gave her every chance. I’ll concentrate on her prior strong efforts here, and hope for fast track tonight. Should bounce back.
4 NARZARIO I still remember that strong charge home in seasonal debut at huge price. Just toss the effort in final due to the horrible draw. Ake will probably be patient again and hope to gear up that good finish. Not sure it will work.
5 CARUSO Boy, he will just drive you crazy. I’m sure Joe H would agree with me. There is talent in this tank, IF he ever grows up and learns to be a horse. I can’t play, but would love to see some speed to end up in good stalking spot.
6 IMHATRA AM S She also had NO chance in her final last time, but was quietly good. Same thing in prior effort. One night soon, the gloves will come off to see what we have. She does have speed, if it’s wanted.
7 TAKE THIS SOCIETY Here’s the dangerous colt in here. Tackling mostly fillies. Came up with nice bounce back effort in the consolation. Weird break in prior leg. He should head right to the lead and try to dominate. It just might work.
8 ROBERT’S HANOVER The other colt in here gets into the race via alternate condition. He hasn’t earned $30K yet. Both qualifiers were good. He packs nice speed. Gained valuable experience at two. And in top hands. What’s not to like?

1 CALLE PALEMA So far, finishing seems to be a bit of a problem. Also makes the occasional mistake. Finally gets a decent post, so Ake can just hit the cones and try to tow along. Let’s see if he trots.
2 IN RANGE That was really odd to see him make that mistake at Pocono. He’s a better horse than that. The effort at Meadows was solid. I fully expect him to be very good in here. On the Road to Hambo. Needs a strong mile.
3 LOCATELLI No real match for the finalists last time, and he does face his more powerful stablemate once again. At least he’s got a slight post edge, Will be interesting to see what Dave M has planned. He knows the horse now.
4 SONOFAMISTERY Can’t really fault either of his big efforts recently. They’ve been racing him conservatively from off the pace so far. I do remember some of his speed efforts. Gets another nice post, with power stuck outside. Maybe.
5 SEVEN NATION ARMY After the powerful, confidence-boosting win here, he scooted up to Vernon and broke. Ouch! So, I don’t really know what to tell you tonight. This is a VERY good field. No mistakes allowed, please.
6 ZENITH STRIDE He was “supposed” to win that conso race, and did so very professionally. Could be springboard to more, but this field is a whole lot tougher than that one. Hopples back on has worked. This will be good test.
7 LINDYSMUSCLEMANIA Do we just give him a pass for the vicious weather conditions that night of the final? I think we can. Gets Ake back tonight, since Dexter has days. IF he races like he did on 5/14, this one’s over. Bounce back?
8 REALLY FAST Even I will admit, I’ve been impressed by this late-bloomer. He’s pretty good! That was one, good, solid burst to capture the NJSS Final. And another nice, confidence builder. Fires back vs. good field here, but in bad post.
9 MON AMOUR Moves from pole to post nine, and I always hate that. He got a nice check in the final, but nice check would be about the goal in this tough spot.

1 SIR LOVEALOT BC Wow, I wonder what got into him over at Pocono? A runaway? Let’s look for a completely different kind of journey from the rail here. Is he good enough? I guess we’re about to find out. I’m not so sure.
2 DONTPASSME HANOVER Another “enigma” of a horse. Capable of 25 second last quarters. Also capable of making mysterious breaks. With that said, I don’t know what to tell you tonight. I just want to watch one, and see if he paces.
3 RED RIGHT HAND Nice spot here. Raced pretty well against Abuckabett in Pennsy. This is a very logical move to try and get the colt some confidence. He needs to step up here and give #7 a good battle. Needs to win one soon.
4 TORONTO All things considered, he does go out and give a good account each and every time. He just hasn’t gotten lucky enough to win one here. That can always change. I do think he’s up against it vs. the stakes colts. Use under?
5 SOLID ALIBI He’s traveled around since coming back at three for Nik D. I do wonder if he can pick up his game here on the big track? That’s a good question. I usually need to see it first. I’m willing to watch one tonight.
6 TWIN B FIGHTER Did a fairly good job of chasing Mach N Cheese at Gaitway on Monday. So, this is a bit of a short rest thing. Overall, he’s a real “project horse” for the Burke Brigade. Do they finally have him figured out? Not sure.
7 ROUSER HANOVER Simply put, this is a very nice horse! Hated to see him hit the sidelines after that very promising start. IF he comes back just as good, he’s got a BIG age edge on the 3YO’s. He might just be faster too! We’ll see.

1 BE BEST She’s still cranking out the checks at this level. The post relief tonight will be huge plus for her. Yannick gets along with her well and will send, then just sit and stalk. That should work for a decent piece again.
2 MAJOR BATTLE Found her top gear just a tad too late last time, but it proved to me that she could handle the hike up. Moves further inside and plots for similar stalking journey. If the trip is right she can fire home. At fair price.
3 MILADY DENVER A 11YO war-mare got a nice, deserved win on the big drop last week. The ‘ol drop-and-pop. So, they opt to bring her back here and not go home to Yonkers just yet. She’s got enough back class to handle it.
4 STELLENBOSCH The Bosch is somehow just 1-17 this year. All those races where she was so well-meant too! This is another. This is the softest group she’s seen in a LONG time. Better take advantage, but you know you won’t get rich.
5 BREAK THE DEAL If you want to try and beat #4, this is one of your options. That was huge try against Steph Deo down at Philly. That’s the kind of effort that might win here. But, she will probably follow #4, not set pace now. Your call
6 TEAM KIWI N Also arrives with a 1-17 slate, which is never great. She’s stuck outside the main players and it’s her first tough post in a while. Her earlier races here were nothing special. I have to consider her a longshot.
7 PETAL TO THE METAL Also getting some slight class relief, but she does not get the post to go along with it. She’s always best in one-move, closing mode, but I’m not so sure about pace scenario in here. Tough to make up ground.
8 J ROCKIN B Moves from pole to post eight, and that’s going to be a big problem. She wasn’t all that great in last start, but maybe she needs to get fired up earlier? More than capable of blasting, IF Tyler wants. That’s a tough call.

1 SOHO BURNING LOVE A The hot pace in the Betsy Ross cooked her goose. Hopefully, she bounces back better from that. She dominated the last leg of this, as Tim’s choice that night. Was home in 25.2. Tonight, Tim T chose #2?
2 LYONS SENTINEL Did not go in the Betsy Ross, most likely because of her stablemate. Her last go down at Philly maybe a tad disappointing? Loses her regular driver again, so I really think that’s all we need to know. T’s choice!
3 SNOBBYTOWN Snobby really showed me something two weeks ago. Yes, I know the pace was hot, and race was won from off the pace, but did you see how far back she was? That was nice kick. Normally, her game is speed.
4 RACINE BELL When you draw outside in a big stakes race, you might as well just take a shot, right? She did. Just got a touch tired late. Oh well. This is first decent post in recent memory. She raced well twice here. A lot to like now.
5 MACHNHOPE She’s been very good in every single start this year. Eventually, I may stop picking against her. While she was outfinished in the Ross, it’s not like it was a bad effort. She LOVES it here. Will try to keep #1 honest early.
6 PEAKY SNEAKY Peaky is beginning to find these distaff wars a little tough. By all rights, she probably should have won that race two weeks ago. This is infinitely tougher than that, and the post gods were not kind. Good luck.
7 KEEP ROCKIN A Was the biggest beneficiary of the hot pace in the Ross, but she still earned it! I loved her here before that. I guess tonight’s problem is the post? She doesn’t leave. Will need some sort of hot pace to help.
13 Thirteenth Race Entries

1 POWER DREAMING N Yes, that’s an 0-19 slate so far this year, so I will just wish you luck if you bet in the top spot. Yannick had options in here and chose elsewhere. Not a surprise. Will hit the pylons, stalk and try to keep up.
2 WAR DADDY Flashed some nice speed in the comebacker here and got a bit tired. They opted to take Daddy to Philly and that didn’t work out. Back to Club Med. Probably the right move. Should be tight enough by now. Use?
3 COACH CAL Didn’t show an awful lot in his return to M1. Sometimes it takes a start to get those mile-track legs going again. Technically, this is a drop out of claimers into a perceived weaker Trackmaster race. More coming?
4 BIONIC Not a whole lot in his recent form suggests a big mile coming. Maybe for Tetrick fans? Not for me.
5 STIRLING ENSIGN Gets his favorite driver back tonight. Don’t underestimate that. Yannick has put this guy in some very good spots along the way. This will be another. Good speed from ideal midpack post. That might work out.
6 MR MCDREAMY I guess we can give him a pass for that one try here. It was post 10. This isn’t as bad. But, I will still keep Dreamy on the longshot list. I need to see more before I could endorse.
7 DATELINE HANOVER No wins yet this year, so that’s an issue. Certainly not the most consistent horse out there. So, we usually just have to guess what we’re going to get. I hate guessing! Good luck with that.
8 NA NA NA BAATMAN Pretty much the same feeling as #7. These lower level horses aren’t the same week to week. Luke H seems to get along with him, so that’s a good thing. He’s still seeking first driving win here. Maybe tonight?
9 IDEAL TYSON A Gets the extremely tepid call as morning line favorite, in a pretty wide-open race. No, I’m not in love with the post. It’s his first bad one in a while. But, that last try sticks out! Same effort could get it all this week.
10 PIRATES ALLEY He’s just 1-20 this season, so that ain’t great. It’s post 10. He doesn’t exactly blast from the gate. So, how does he get into the race? I have no answer for that one.
