  The World-Famous Budweiser Clydesdales will pay a visit to the Meadowlands Friday night and their appearance will mark the beginning of what promises to be a huge weekend at the mile oval both on and off the track. 

Take a selfie with the Clydesdales on the East Apron from 6-7:15 p.m. before they parade down the stretch after the first race. 

The nine-race program, which gets underway at 7:15 p.m., will offer the track’s signature Pick-4 wager (Races 6-9) and harness racing’s biggest pot of gold, the 20-Cent Late Jackpot Super High-Five (Race 9), which sports a carryover of $247,880. Both wagers have a low takeout of 15 percent.

Saturday is certain to be a busy day at the Big M as racing fans will watch and wager all day long on the featured simulcast signal from Belmont Park as Justify seeks to become the 13th horse in history to sweep Thoroughbred Racing’s Triple Crown. 

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with the first race at Belmont slated for 11:35 a.m. The Belmont Stakes (Race 11) has a post time of 6:46 p.m. 

The simulcast menu will also include three eliminations for the C$1 million North America Cup from Woodbine Mohawk Park. Post time is 7:30 p.m. The elims are Races 4, 5 and 8. 

The live 11-race program gets underway at 7:15 p.m. 

BURGER UP: The third annual Meadowlands “Battle for the Best Burger” will take place from 1-10 p.m. in the Backyard. Fans are welcome to come sample some of the best burgers in the area.

JUNE 16: You’ve seen Standardbreds race many times over the mile track at the Meadowlands. But if you are into something different, catch camel and ostrich racing at the Big M. 

The sixth-annual Camel and Ostrich Derbies will take place after races 3 (ostriches) and 8 (camels). 

In addition, simulcasting and wagering from Woodbine Mohawk Park, featuring Canada’s richest harness race – the C$1 million North America Cup – will be offered. 

JUNE 23: The Meadowlands’ Summer Wine Festival takes place with local wineries from New York and New Jersey participating. They’ll be more than 25 total producers – wineries. For complete information, go to 

JUNE 30: College students can enter to win one of ten $1,000 college scholarships sponsored by Jeff and Paula Gural’s Allerage Farm. Those showing a valid college ID will receive a voucher good for a $5 wager as well as a free program. 

They’ll also a be a handicapping contest that night for those 18-30 years of age and the guaranteed prize pool of $5,000 is also being sponsored by the Gurals. 

JULY 7: It’s Fan Appreciation Night, and it’s also wiener take all, as the Big M hosts its 1st annual Wiener Dog Races. For those who own a dachshund and want to enter, go to 

At the conclusion of the races, stay for a fantastic fireworks display. They’ll be beer and food specials all night long. 

There is a special early post time of 6:35 p.m. The featured event are the eliminations for the Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace. 

JULY 14: The Meadowlands’ signature event, the Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace, takes center stage. Post time is 6:35 p.m. 

AUGUST 4: Harness racing’s signature event, the $1 million Hambletonian, brings the best 3-year-old trotters to not only the Big M, but to a national television audience (on the CBS Sports Network). Post time is noon for harness racing’s biggest day.
